Motive—Conviction…….

. A general decided to attack even though he was outnumbered ten to one. He was surehe would win, but his soldiers were full of doubt. So on the way to battle, he stopped at a shrine and went in and said some prayers. When he came back outside, he told the soldiers, “I am going to toss a coin. If it is heads, we shall win, “If it is tails, we shall lose. Destiny will now reveal her hand.” He tossed the coin. It was heads. The soldiers were so eager to fight that they won the battle easily. The next day, one of the lesser officers with great conviction told the general, “That just goes to show that no one can change the hand of Destiny.” “Quite right,”said the general, showing him that the coin had heads on both sides. Longing for light, we wait in darkness. Longing for truth, we turn to you. Make us your own, your holy people. Light for the world to see Christ be our light! Shine in our hearts. Shine through the darkness. Christ be our light! Shine in your people all over the world!
