Modesty

Look not beyond one meter ahead,

Don’t turn around to see beside,

raised saris of those who pass by,

which  might tempt you to flesh,

which will eventually crush you.

Hear not the talk of the other two,

rather lend your ears to the Ultimate One.

Speak not on what you have heard of,

nor of what you think of, or dream of,

and thus you may become the  talk of the town,

which will ultimately keep your spirits down.

Touch not those which belong to others,

be it things, spouses, or even senses.

Touch all that belongs  to you as if you

are making up in a fine morning of a working day.

Smell not the other which would hide

you from your own odor

which might be repelling even unto you.
