Peace I leave with you (John 14:27).
Police were dumbfounded when they found who the man was they arrested for five traffic violations. His job: a state safety engineer. The 34-year-old motorist was arrested on charges of drunken driving, speeding, driving without a license, driving with inadequate lights and failing to change the address of his registration.
It is easy to criticise a man like this but in all sincerity each one of us can probably say in one way or another: “there but for the grace of God, go I.”
For instance, we all talk much about peace and its advantages. But how many of us work against peace by our thoughts, words and deeds. Yes, we want peace in the world but we often overlook the fact that peace in the world begins with each of us. If we accomplish nothing more than bringing the balance and harmony of Christ into our own private lives that would be one big step toward peace.
Significantly enough, the more we strive to bring the truths of God into the lives of others, the more conscious we are that we should practice them in our own lives.
Almighty God has placed in your hands a share of His peace. He expects you to keep a bit of it for yourself. But the rest of it you should share with others
