Key terms-assert

‘Assert’ is to state something as a fact with no real support or proof.

But in dictionary you may find other meanings as:-

  • to behave in a way that expresses your confidence, power and importance which make others respect you.
  • to say something is certainly true.
  • to do something to show your power.

However, in your commentary better not to assert any idea or point in the beginning unless you are certain about it. It is advised to use, ‘it seems’, ‘it appears’,’ it is likely that” and so on.
